It is an alcohol and ammonia based product. The finish is winwax dark walnut with 2 3 coats of polyurethane on it. Obviously a glass cleaner is not designed for wood floors. However you still need to take special care when cleaning this type of floor as you can damage the floor or the coating if you re not careful.

Be sure there is a polyurethane coating on the hardwood flooring prior to using windex in order to prevent floor damage.
